THE Health Awareness and Nationwide Blood Donation Campaign 2018 is currently taking place at over 30 locations throughout the country until Oct 31. For more information on the locations and dates, visit

The campaign is organised by the Life Insurance Association of Malaysia (LIAM) and its 16 member companies, with the support of the National Association of Malaysian Life Insurance and Family Takaful Advisors (NAMLIFA). It is aimed to spread awareness and promote a healthy lifestyle among Malaysians.

At the campaign launch, complimentary health screenings, health talks, BMI tests, quit-smoking clinics, CPR demo, health consultation and advisory services were conducted. These were carried out from Oct 1 to 5, first and foremost, to narrow the gap between the health industry and the general public.

This five-day event was a collaborated effort with a few organisations, namely Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), Institut Jantung Negara (IJN), Lembaga Penduduk Dan Pembangunan Keluarga Negara (LPPKN), Asia Assistance Network (M) Sdn Bhd, KPJ Healthcare Berhad, Cancer Research Malaysia, and Peak Fitness Sdn. Bhd.

“We are working together with our co-partners to encourage people from all walks of life to donate blood and at the same time, keep track of their health condition. We hope the public will benefit from this campaign and take this opportunity to do their health screening while donating blood for the needy,” said LIAM’s Industry Promotion Committee chairman Ramzi Toubassy.
