METHODIST College Kuala Lumpur’s (MCKL) A-Level students have showcased their ability by rising to the top in national and international competitions. The challenging encounters did more than test their knowledge across various fields, it also challenged their critical thinking skills, general knowledge and teamwork capabilities.

At the International Chemistry Olympiad 2018 in Slovakia and Czech Republic, Cheong Ruoh Wen represented Malaysia and brought home a bronze medal.

Ruoh Wen is also the recipient of three 2018 Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards: Top in the World for Chemistry, Top in the World for Mathematics, and Best across Four. She will be furthering her studies at the University of Cambridge reading Natural Sciences – Chemistry.

Meanwhile, at the IMU Science Discovery Challenge, MCKL students took the first and third spots. Marcus Ang King Hao, Chiew Kai Qi and Teh Hui Wen made the champs while third placing went to Kim Minseo, Liang Wan Yee and Aishwarya Baskar.

At the Sin Chew Online Quiz 2018 in August, Ang Zheng Jiet came out tops, beating over 1,000 participants. And at the Monash Science Cup in July, Chan Yi Jing, Low Zi Tung, Ooi Chu Jun and Ho Ming emerged first runners-up.

Clearly gems of students and the pride of MCKL, an educational institution that offers pre-university programmes such as the Cambridge A Level and Australian Matriculation; diploma programmes in Early Childhood Education and Social Work; the American Degree Transfer Program; as well as professional CAT and ACCA courses.
