KUALA LUMPUR: The prevailing kitchen-sinking in the country is only a short term pain, according to Rakuten Trade on its market outlook for the second half of 2018.

Head of research Kenny Yee said volatility is expected to reign for now, as it believes that Bursa Malaysia would be impacted by heightened regional volatility over the next few months.

However it is still positive on the country, as Malaysia is usually known as the region’s safe haven.

Judging by the ringgit performance, all is not that bad, Yee said.
