PETALING JAYA: LBS Bina Group Berhad (LBS) continued its winning streak at the 2018 PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Malaysia), clinching the Best Developer Award and a string of six other awards in the Township, Landed Development (Klang Valley), Mass Market Development (Condo), Special Recognition in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Special Recognition in Sustainable Development categories.

Despite the challenging market in 2017, LBS marked its highest sales achievement since its establishment. LBS has delivered more than 30,000 homes to Malaysians over the past 25 years of being in the industry. Their commitment in providing affordable and quality townships as well as homes for home buyers in Malaysia all these years was honoured with the Best Developer Award at the 2018 PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Malaysia).

“We are honoured to be recognised among the industry’s top developers. It is a big achievement for us as this is the highest number of nominations and awards LBS has garnered in a single award ceremony to-date. The awards are a testament to the success of our developments in meeting the highest standards of the industry and satisfying the needs of home buyers in Malaysia.

The nod from the industry is definitely an affirmation of our strategy and direction as a responsible corporate citizen and township developer,” said LBS Group Managing Director, Tan Sri Lim Hock San.

A double winner at the awards in 2017, LBS upped its game by collecting six nominations and garnering a total of seven awards in this year’s PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Malaysia), the most for any shortlisted developer.

LBS justified its position as a notable township developer with the recognition of Highly Commended in the Best Township award for both BSP and D’ Island Residence. Both are the earliest townships by LBS since venturing into township development.

Aside from that, LBS also proved its commitment to developing affordable developments with the Highly Commended award in The Best Mass Market Development (Condo) category for LBS SkyLake Residence and Highly Commended in The Best Landed Development category in Klang Valley for Irama Perdana at LBS Alam Perdana.

LBS also picked up two special recognitions for its notable contributions in CSR and exemplary practices in sustainable development.

Placing equal emphasis on care for its surrounding community, LBS through the LBS Foundation has led a string of initiatives focusing on four main pillars namely, education, community, environment and health. Some of the group’s notable outreach efforts include its long-term support for the Kiwanis Club of Kuala Lumpur since 2007, which continues to help sustain its educational centre for young children with Down Syndrome, and programmes like The Star NiE and the Step Up Programme which help improving English proficiency among students across Malaysia.

The Special Recognition for Sustainable Development acknowledged LBS’ consistent efforts to promote sustainable living, working and recreational environments especially within its developments. The group is known for its proactive efforts in the responsible management of its project sites, innovative building practices with the Industrialised Building System or IBS, purposeful designs, as well as sourcing materials in a way that reduces its carbon footprint.

The 2018 PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Malaysia) gala dinner was held at Intercontinental Hotel Kuala Lumpur. The judging system for the fifth edition of the awards, known for its fairness, transparency and credibility, was supervised by BDO Malaysia, the world’s fifth largest auditing and accountancy firm.

The judging panel comprised highly reputable industry experts from the real estate, design, consultancy and related sectors. The panel recognised developers who demonstrated efforts to maintain the highest quality and standards, as well as incorporated aspects like sustainability, lifestyle elements which are viewed as value added factors in the property industry.
