KOTA KINABALU: Gamuda Land Bhd is keeping its maiden project in Sabah – Bukit Bantayan Residences – on the right track to provide the people here with community and nature friendly home by 2019.

Sitting on 18-acre land atop of Inanam, the highland residence features three blocks of serviced apartments overlooking the South China Sea and forested mountain surrounding the area.

Gamuda Land, the property development arm of Gamuda Bhd, has an extensive portfolio in making good vertical communities that can be seen its successful development not just in Malaysia but also in Australia, Singapore, and Vietnam.

At Bukit Bantayan Residences, the 25-storey Ebena Tower with 296 units is currently at about 60 per cent completion stage and it is scheduled to be fully completed in 2019.

Eighty-five per cent of the units have been sold out.

Meanwhile, the completion status for 25-storey Cemara Tower with 296 units and the 27-story Dilenia Tower with 320 units is between 20 per cent and 30 per cent.

Both Cemera and Dilenia Towers are expected to complete in 2020 and 2021 respectively. Currently, 70 per cent of Cemera units have been sold out while sales unit for Dilenia will be launched next month.

With the construction progress and purchase feedback, Gamuda Land chief executive officer Ngan Chee Meng expressed confidence their project here would be completed ahead of schedule.

“When we build Bukit Bantayan Residences, we don’t simply cut hills but we develop the area in line with nature.

“Our core value has always been to respect the nature and the people’s needs. We maximise the view so our buyers can enjoy the beautiful nature within their living space. As a town maker, we address these two in our every development,” he said at the topping up ceremony of Ebena Tower here recently.”

Launched in 2016, the Bukit Bantayan Residences also features 25 retail shop lots, park, and wellness facilities.

It is also earthquake-resistant structure, which is able to withstand up to 7.0 Richter seismic magnitude scale from the Ranau epicentre.

Being an engineering-based company, Gamuda Land prioritises on ensuring slop and soil condition is safe and suitable for development, Ngan added.

“This is important so we can decide on the best methodology and safest measures to use. Gamuda is experienced in hill side development and we are careful in these matters,” he added.

Moving forward, with its first residential development venture in the state capital, Gamuda Land hopes to grow its presence by taking on a couple of development proposals.

“At the moment, we will focus on Kota Kinabalu. The city has a lot of potential with high number of tourist arrivals.

“I am not surprised if many of them (tourists) start to own a home here.

“I see the potential growth of Sabah itself and with the Pan Borneo Highway, rest assured there will be phenomenal development taking place in Sabah and Sarawak just like in the Peninsular,” he said.
