Oracle Study Shows Moving to IaaS Helps With Competitiveness

According to a global survey involving 1,610 IT professionals, the number of businesses in Malaysia reaping the rewards of embracing cloud infrastructure services has increased significantly in the last quarter. 78% of the respondents believe Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) makes it easier for businesses to innovate, and that 69% of businesses believe IaaS delivers exceptional operational performance in terms of speed and availability.

Over two thirds of respondents (67%) found their organisation improve in terms of productivity after migrating to cloud, and 66% of businesses believe that companies that doesn’t invest on IaaS will struggle to keep up with those that are using it.

Praveen Thakur, VP of Cloud Transformation, ASEAN says: “It is evident that there is a growing acceptance and realisation of the measurable benefits that derive from the use of cloud infrastructure. Early adopters are showing that with experience, comes a greater ability to disrupt existing business models, improve customer experience and build greater competitive advantage. Late entrants need to get in on the action soon, so they can unlock their ability to innovate, future-proof their business and ensure survival.”

Additionally, 20% of respondents claims that IaaS helps them disrupt their market and competitors.
