KUALA LUMPUR: Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGV) will begin the domestic inquiry process on its group president and CEO Datuk Zakaria Arshad and group CFO Ahmad Tfili Mohd Talha on July 24, said acting chairman Tan Sri Sulaiman Mahbob.

Speaking to reporters at a press conference after its Hari Raya open house today, Sulaiman said it aims to complete the domestic inquiry by Aug 14.

He said Zakaria and Ahmad Tifli will be given the chance to defend themselves and provide evidence, and enough time to respond to the inquiry.

Sulaiman said the domestic inquiry, which is an internal exercise, will be carried out by an independent panel comprising three members, in order to ensure a fair process.

Meanwhile, Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) chairman Tan Sri Shahrir Abdul Samad who was also at the event, said it will give its full cooperation to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

Earlier today, MACC conducted a raid at the Felda Investment Corporation (FIC) office following the discovery of new evidence in relation to a previous investigation.

Shahrir said the new evidence is related to an old case related to the acquisition of a London hotel by FIC. He said he has no knowledge of the new evidence but assured that Felda and FIC will cooperate with MACC.
