This is the third installment of our top online shopping sites in Malaysia series, shortlisting top 10 online fashion stores in Malaysia.

• Online fashion stores with focus on Malaysia (global sites excluded)
• Some shortlisted stores might sell other categories but main focus is fashion
• Foreign shopping service is excluded, like “daigou“, Taobao agent etc.
• Stores with partial pre-order is included here with a mix of ready stocks
• Ranked by visits to the website using SimilarWeb (desktop only, Oct 2015)

Fashion stores are relatively higher in engagement

If we compare to multi-category or e-marketplace sites, top 10 online fashion stores here registered an average of 10.80 page views (vs 7.35 of multi-category) and 24.11% bounce rate (vs 38.52%).

Besides the audience segment and shopping behaviour, the reason behind higher engagement rate of fashion stores is that paid traffic investment (to acquire new visitors) is much lower in general as compared to e-marketplaces.

In average, paid search for fashion sites is only 3.09% of total search visits (vs 22.72% of e-marketplaces) and display advertising is 0.56% for fashion vs 4.53% for multi-category.

As we would have expected too, social media contributes higher visits (9.29%) to online fashion stores, higher than e-marketplaces (4.23%).

Muslimah fashion rules in Malaysia

Another interesting perspective is 5 out of 10 top online fashion sites in Malaysia are either focus solely or mostly on Muslimah fashion.

The engagement rate on Muslimah-focus fashion sites is also relatively higher, with Zolace registering an outstanding 19:51 average time on site and 19.06 page views, while Sugarscarf enjoying a super healthy 14.39% bounce rate!

There are a couple of fashion stores with similar traffic but Sugarscarf gets the #10 spot here thanks to its low bounce rate (hence quality visits).
